Research Progress on Inulin in Raising Pigs Production

Abstract: Inulin is a kind of special natural fructan of carbohydrate,usually extracted from plants. It had a probiotic effect, and could selectively improve the beneficial intestinal microflora and inhibit enteric pathogens, furthermore. It could enhance production performance and immune function of animals. This article expounded the research progress on inulin in raising pigs as a new feed additive, and whose effect on the intestinal flora, the growth performance, the immune function, the mineral absorption and utilization, and meat quality of pigs and so on were analyzed in this paper.
