Abstract: This experiment was conducted to study the effects of Chinese herbal additive level on production performance and diarrhea of weaning Rex rabbits and compare with the western medicine.A total of 80 30-day-old weaning rabbits with the similar weight were randomly divided into 4 groups (Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ).Rabbits in the 4 groups were fed basic diets containing 0.1% olaquindox premix and 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% of Chinese herbal medicine, respectively. The results showed that compared with the group Ⅰ,the diarrhea frequency of weaning Rex rabbits in groups Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ was reduced, average daily gain in Ⅲ and Ⅳ groups was extremlely significantly different (P<0.01), dietary crude protein digestibility in Ⅲ and Ⅳ groups was significantly increased (P<0.05),crude fat digestibility in Ⅲ group was extremely significantly different compared with that in group Ⅰ(P<0.01),there were no significant differences in all groups about slaughter performance, meat quality and fur quality of weaning Rex rabbits (P>0.05),the cooked meat rates, skin area and hair density were increased, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05).Therefore,adding 1.5% Chinese herb additive for preventing diarrhea and improving production performance of weaning Rex rabbits is the best.
