Epidemiological Survey and Prevention Measures of Canine Distemper

Abstract: In this paper,an epidemiological study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of canine distemper in Heze city. A total of 2716 dogs cases from 3 animal hospitals were detected according to their clinical symptoms and laboratory diagnosis. The results showed that 754 cases were found in this area and the total infection rate was 27.8%. Significant differences in the infection rates of canine distemper among ages,seasons and immunity conditions of dogs were observed. Among them,the pure breeds showed the highest incidence (51.6%),while cultivates showed the lowest incidence(18.3%).There were a high prevalence in 3 to 12 months up to 65.1% for infection canine distemper of dogs, while compared with 2.5% of below 3 months was the best low, and the incidence of canine distemper peaked from 4 to 6 mouths. The infection rate of unimmunized dogs were the higher than that of immunized dogs. Canine distemper sped quckily, strong infection, so the immunoisolation and disinfection of the work were particalarly important.
