Effects of Sodium Nitro-prusside on the Granulosa Apoptosis Rate of Porcine Preantral Follicles

Abstract: In order to understand the effects of nitric oxide (NO) on granulose apoptosis of porcine preantral follicles at four days of the culture, we treated the follicles with different concentrations of sodium nitro-prusside (0, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 and 1.0 mmol/L SNP), a nitric oxide donor. The results indicated that 1.0 mmol/L SNP was significantly higher than other treatments (P＜0.05), 0.001 mmol/L SNP was significantly lower than other treatments (P＜0.05).In conclusion, high concentrations of SNP in culture medium can significantly stimulate follicles granulose apoptosis, low concentrations of SNP inhibit follicles granulose apoptosis.
