Abstract: In this study, the genetic polymorphism of insulin-like growth factor Ⅰ(IGF-Ⅰ) gene of 5′region in 438 yellow feather dwarf broilers was detected by PCR-RFLP method. PCR products treated by Hinf Ⅰ appeared GG,GT and TT genotypes. χ2 test showed the population was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in this locus(P>0.05). Variance analysis indicated gender had extremely significant effect (P<0.01) on 9 traits (body weight and carcass weight, cutaneous fat thickness,half-eviscerated weight, eviscerated weight, breast muscle weight, drumstick weight, abdominal fate weight) and significant effect (P<0.05) on intramuscular fat, that family affected 8 traits extremely significantly (P<0.01),while that genotype effect was suggestively associated with abdominal fat rate (P<0.05),approximately suggestively associated with abdominal fat weight (P=0.0669). Multiple comparison of different genotypes’ least square mean displayed abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat rate of genotype TT were significantly lower than that of genotype GT (P<0.05),while that of genotype GG was no different significantly from genotype GT and TT (P>0.05)
