Abstract:

Advances on feedstuff evaluation, nutrient requirements and formulation techniques of Swine are renewed in this paper. It shows that the evaluation parameter for the energy in swine feed is turning to net energy (NE) from digestibility energy (DE) and/or metabolizable energy (ME); the biological value index of amino acids is turning to the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) , which has more practical value compared to the apparent digestibility. The research method of nutrient requirements of swine is turning to the mathematic model calculative method driven by all kinds of parameters which affect the nutrient requirements of swine. The net energy (NE) and the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) have been used as two new indexes in swine nutrient requirements, and the conditions of using the new parameters in the feed formulation design and practical feeding are basically satisfied. Abovementioned research results will provide scientific basis for developing new generation swine feeding and nutrition expert system.
