Abstract: The objective of this study is to explore the simple and effective method to prevent, diagnose and treat piglets umbilical hernia. Through analysis of case information of nine piglets, theirs umbilical hernia were cured successfully by conservative treatment. Compared with other conservative and surgical treatments, the advantages and disadvantages of various methods and indication were samarized. The results showed that congenital umbilical hernia was closely related to the method of cutting umbilical cord and genetic,and root cause of acquired umbilical was exorbitant abdominal pressure.Conservative treatment should be given preferentially in treatment of recoverable hernia. Unrecoverable hernia can be treated by surgery. The preventive measures of this disease is eliminating harmful related genes, standardizing methods of cutting umbilicalcord and decreasing the factors that increased abdominal pressure in the process of feeding management. 
