Abstract: The effect of pyroligneous acid on egg performance of laying hens and egg quality studied in this paper. Brown hens of 219 day-old, on volume of feed 124 gram, randomly divided into group A, B, C and D, each group was individually fed with ration added with 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0% pyroligneous acid. The experiment was 3 replications and 16 hens were used in every replication. Experimental period was 80 days. The result shows that egg production, laying rate, protein content and calcium content of egg in the groups added 0.5%, 0.75% pyroligneous acid in the rations are higher than the group without pyroligneous acid. Meanwhile, cholesterol content decreased pyroligneous acid. Egg production, laying rate is lower in the group added 1.0% pyroligneous acid in the ration than the group without any pyroligneous acid. The experiment confirmed that the hens ration added pyroligneous acid can improve hen’s egg productivity and egg quality.
