Effect of Seasonal Changes on Milk Yield for Lactation Cow in Shanghai District

Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of seasonal changes on milk yield in Shanghai district. The seventeen thousand two hundred and eighty four milk yield records were analyzed. The milk yield of cows calved in December, January and February was higher, but lower in July, August, September and October and the lowest in September. The milk yield of cows by nature month was significant lower in July, August, September and October than others and there was no difference among the others. The milk yield is lower down from 2, 3, 4, 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 to >10 months according to postcalve month. It showed that the seasonal changes can affect milk yield significantly and should make goals and management way by difference season. The DHI records should contain the information of season.
