Recent Advances of Major Genes of Controlling Wool Economic Traits in Sheep

Abstract: In this paper, several major genes with Mendelian inheritance including pigmentation gene, keratin gene and hairless gene that influence the economically important traits in sheep were reviewed. The aim of this paper is to provide the theory for utilizing these major genes to improve genetics in wool sheep breeding.
