The Effects of Combined Polysaccharides from Herbs on Performance and Immune Function of Weaning Piglets

Abstract: A single factorial trial was conducted to investigate the effects of added combined polysaccharides from herbs on performance and immune function of weaning piglets. threeline crossbred (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire) weaning piglets(28 d, the same average weight ) were randomly assigned to 5 treatments and each treatment had 4 replicates with 8 piglet per replicate : control group: basal diet, groupⅠ:basal diet+antibiotic group, groupⅡ:basal diet+0.05% polysaccharides added , group Ⅲ:basal diet+0.10%polysaccharides added, group Ⅳ:basal diet+0.15% polysaccharides added. The experiment was conducted for 28days. The results showed: compared with control group, the average daily gain of group Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ increased by 9.34%,11.80%, 19.90% and 14.74 %( P<0.01) respectively; the feed/gain of groupⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ decreased by12.42%, 8.28%,17.75%,14.20%(P<0.05) respectively. Compared with control group and groupⅠ, the lymphocyte blastogensis of group Ⅲ and Ⅳ extremely significant difference with control group and groupⅠ, Ⅱ(P<0.01), compared with control group, the average stimulate index of lymphocyte blastogensis of group Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ increased by6.25%,8.04%,24.11%和69.64%respectively.In conclusion, the addition of combined polysaccharides in the diet improved growth performance and immune function of weaning piglets.
