Research Progress on Immune Function of Vitamin A

Abstract: Vitamin A (VA) is the essential nutrition factor as well as an important antioxidant for the animal, which has many functions, such as protecting epithelial integrity, promoting bone growth, regulating body metabolism and embryonic development and enhancing immune ability.However, recent studies have shown that VA acting as important immune adjuvant in the intestinal mucous membrane immunization and induction of lymphocyte apoptosis.This paper reviews the newest research progress on immune function of VA, so as to broaden the research area of nutrition and immunization.
