Abstract: Lysozyme is widely distributed in animals, plants, microbes and other biological groups, and an important factor of the natural immune system and nonspecific defense mechanism. Combining with the physiological and biochemical characteristics of bacteria, fungi and virus, the paper summarizes lysis mechanism of lysozyme and detection methods of the antibacterial activity, and at last, prospects the applied foreground of bacteriostatic action.

Key words: lysis principle; activity detection; bacteriostatic action
