Epidemiology, Diagnosis, Prevention and Control of Peste des Ptits Ruminants

Abstract: Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a highly contagious, infectious, viral disease of domestic and wild small ruminants characterized by fever, stomatitis, conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis and pneumonia. It is one of the major notifiable diseases of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).This review presents comprehensive information on this dangerous disease including its history, spread, and diagnosis of the disease. It also deals with relevant preventive and control measures to be implemented in areas with PPR outbreaks.
