The Chromosome Karyotype Analysis of Pingbian Dawei Mountain Jungle Fowl

Abstract: Yunnan Pingbian Dawei mountain jungle fowl were used to study their karyotype by preparing chromosomes with direct bone marrow. It has been shown that the diploid chromosomal numbers were seventy eight(2n=78).The chromosomes were consisted of 10 pairs of macrochmmosomes and 29 pairs of microchromosomes,and the sex chromosomal type was ZZ(♂)/ZW (♀). Based on the measurement of relative lengths,arm ratios and centromeric indexes of the first 5 pairs of chromosomes,the morphology of these chromosomes were described as follows:the pair 1,2 and Z were metacentric,pair 3 was telocentric,pair 4 was submetacentric.
