Abstract: In livestock production ,there is a high incidence of intrauterine growth retardation（IUGR）,which may increas the neonatal mortality and impact the postnatal growth and health. This paper reviews the main factors causing IUGR. Understanding the causes of IUGR is of great significance for reducing the incidence and improving livestock production level.
