Abstract: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in H-FABP gene promoter region were detected in present study. A new SNP (T-C) was found at -224 bp, named H-FABP-proT224C, from the initiation codon (ATG) in promoter region. Distributions of H-FABP-proT224C in Min, Beijing Black, Landrace and Large White pigs were investigated. The SNP was found only in Min pig with more intramuscular fat content (IMF) provide the support that H-FABP-proT224C could play an important role on IMF. 
