Abstract: Silages and distiller’s grains contained with many species of yeasts are common ruminant feed, so isolate and screen yeasts from them is available. In this research, culture conditions of isolated yeasts were optimized by orthogonal design. One screened isolate obtained the best result of 1.7×109 cell/ml and 60.54 mg N/dl at this condition, which is at 30℃, initial pH value 5, glucose 2%, soy peptone 1%, malt extract power 0.3%, yeast extracts 0.3%, inoculant concentration 3%, shaking speed 180 r/min, and then this isolate was identified as Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
