Abstract: Balearica pavonina has a small quantity and it's significant to develop artificial reproduction and breeding. This research extracted genome DNA from feathers and amplified the EE0.6 gene of Balearica pavonina specifically with two combinations of primers. The results showed that male birds displayed one distinct amplification band, whereas two bands were amplified for female ones. With the results, the sex of Balearica pavonina could be identified successfully. It is meaningful for the reproduction of the birds.
