The Methods for Functional Genomics

Abstract

Abstract: The research of genomics has been transferred from the structural genomics focusing on determining the complete sequences of the genome to the functional genomics focusing on elucidating the biological function of genes. In this paper，a brief introduction of the content of functional genomics and its mainly new technology ,such as SAGE, ESTs, SSH, microarray, bioinformatics, RNAi, proteomics and so on were summarized. Meanwhile, it reviewed the developments of functional genomics and simply previewed its prospective applications.
