Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate a suspected chicken inclusion body hepatitis virus. A case of suspected chicken inclusion body hepatitis occurred on a chicken farm in Shanxi province. A live suspension culture of deadly suspected chickens was made and inoculated into the yolk cavity of a 6-day old SPF embryo. The virus was then isolated. After further analysis of the infected lesion using RT-PCR, gene sequencing, BLAST search and animal regression testing, it was determined that the suspected culprit was the inclusion body hepatitis virus.
