Abstract: To investigate the characteristics of novel duck flavivirus (DFV) epidemic strain in Guangxi province, a virus was isolated from sick laying berry valley ducks and designated as LG/01/11. Then, full length of viral envelope protein E gene was cloned and sequenced. Results showed that E gene of LG/01/11 was comprised of 1503 nucleotides, encoding 500 amino acids, and shared 99.3% to 99.6% nucleotide sequence homology with other duck flaviviruses isolated in China since 2010. No genetic deletion and insertion, but several scatter nucleotide substitutions were found in E gene of LG/01/11.
