Abstract: Salmonella was isolated using BS selective medium from liver and intestinal contents of diseased pigeon raising in South China and made the purified culture, biochemical test, serotype experiment, sequencing analysis of 16S rRNA and regression test. A single colony of Salmonella was isolated, identified by biochemical experiments. Serotype experiment result combined with the biochemical testing results were showed that the strain was the result of A polyvalent F. After aligning the sequence of 16S rRNA fragments with the sequences in GenBank, the results of genetic evolution analysis showed that the similarity of pigeon Salmonella and Salmonella paratyphi was 100%.In the animal regression test,it showed that the Salmonella isolated in pigeon was pathopoiesis.
