Research Progress on Subgroup J Avian Leukosis

Abstract: Subgroup J avian leukosis is a name of tumorigenicity and immunosuppressive disease in avian caused by extrinsic subgroup J avian leukosis virus (ALV-J). ALV-J can infect chicks by the vertical and horizontal transmission. ALV-J is widespread through the flock and becomes more complicated in China. It has influnenced the development of poultry industry seriously. We have no vaccine and effective treatment to overcome up to now. Purifying breeder flocks is regarded the main control measure. The author reviewed the etiology, epizoology, isolation along with identification and controlling of subgroup J avian leukosis.
