Abstract: Reactive oxygen species (ROS) were an unenviable part of aerobic animal, but they could caused cell damage of aquatic animals if accumulated too much, then caused diseases. In order to provide theoretical basis for works of against oxidative stress in China intensive aquaculture, these were reviewed that mechanisms of reactive oxygen species generation and elimination in aquatic animals, what were the mechanisms that the factors could lead to oxidative stress in aquatic environments, such as temperature, oxygen level, salinity, transition metal ions and pesticides.
