Abstract

Abstract: A UV-visible spectrophotometry method was established for the determination of total flavonoids in Fengliao decoction. Rutin was the control, NaNO₂-Al(NO₃)₃-NaOH was the color developing reagent and the detection wave length was 510 nm. The standard curve was linear in the range of 0.008 to 0.048 mg/mL for total flavonoids, the average recovery of total flavonoids was 100.97% with RSD of 1.66%. The method established was fast and reliable, and could be used to determine the content of total flavonoids in half finished product and finished product of Polygonum hydropiper L. and Daphniphyllum calycinum Benth．．
