Abstract: A cyoclopolypeptide named pLR possesses an amino acid sequence as LVRGCWTKSYPPKPCFVR and a S-S bridge between two cysteines and characteristic features of typical tryptase inhibitor conformation.Cyoclopolypeptide pLR shows strong activation in the histamine release of mast cells, inhibition in tryptase and the early development of granulocyte macrophage colonies, permeabilization of negatively charged POPG vesicle, but inactivity in hemolysis.Cyoclopolypeptide pLR significantly decreases the phenotypes and lung tissue injury in asthma models. The authors reviewed the structure and function, biological activity of cyclopolypeptide pLR and its immunological regulation in asthma models, which is helpful for the development and application of cyclopolypeptide medicine.

Key words: cyclopolypeptide pLR; biological activity; tryptase inhibitor; immunological regulation
