Abstract: This assay was aimed to study the pharmacological effects of carboxymethyl glucan (CMG) injection,so as to provide experimental bases for clinical diseases use. The mice were used to study acute toxicity assay, the ability against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Escherichia coli. In addition, lymphocyte transformation rates of dairy cows were determined by MTT method, and the clinical application of CMG injection was also carried out. The results indicated that the maximum tolerance dose of mice to CMG was above 240 mg per mouse, and in the 4 mg per mouse, the rates of protection against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Escherichia coli were 60%, 62.5%, 87.5%. CMG could apparently increase the lymphocyte transformation rate of dairy cows. In clinical application, the mastitis incidence of experimental group decreased by 26.8% compared with the blank control. All the results above showed that CMG injection could be used as a potential new immunopotentiator for clinical application in animals.
