Abstract: In order to understand the endocrine regulation process in a morphological view and reveal luteotropic hormone(LH) mechanism action in the female mammalian ovary, the distribution and localization of luteotropic hormone receptors(LHR) in ovaries of Duolang sheep and Karakul sheep were determined by immunohistochemical SP method. The results showed that 5 positive continuous sections were selected respectively. LHR-immunoreactive substance was mainly distributed over granulose cells, theca cells, oocyte, and ovary blood vessel surrounding interstitium. LHR was mainly loaded by the granulose cells and theca cells. Receptors regulation was showed during the earlier follicle period. With the development of follicles, the quantities and the staining intensity of the LHR-immunoreactive cells presented an increasing trend.
