Abstract: In this study, the crossbreed and backcross of Yorkshire, Landrace, Duroc and Guizhou Bai Xiang pig were used to investigate the effect of Calsarcin-2 gene on meat quality. Four pairs of primers for intron 1 of Calsarcin-2 gene were designed according to pig sequences from GenBank. Polymorphisms were detected by PCR-SSCP method. SNPs were detected by DNA sequencing.2 SNPs(T613C,C936G) were identified. Population genetics analysis showed that the distribution of genotypes among five species were extremely significant difference (P<0.01). Association of polymorphisms with breed characteristics indicated that the mutations of 613 and 936 sites may be related to meat quality.
