Abstract: Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is one of the most common causes of acute diarrhea in children and in travelers, but also is the major pathogenic E.coli caused diarrhea and edema diseases in neonatal and post-weaning piglets. DNA vaccine can stimulate cellular immunity, furthermore, can induce specific humoral immunity. DNA vaccines against ETEC have being developed. This paper reviews recent progress of DNA vaccine against ETEC in recombinant plasmid construction, immunization responses, inoculation system and genetic adjuvants.
