Abstract: Dopamine receptor D2 (DRD2) gene in blue fox was cloned and sequenced,in order to provide theoretical foundation for further research of the correlation of DRD2 gene in self-biting behavior of blue fox and location. DRD2 gene of fox was amplified using particular primers, cloned by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and sequenced. The length of DRD2 gene in fox was 819 bp. Comparison of the fragment sequence with that of other mammal animals DRD2 gene was carried out through BLAST in GenBank. The results showed that the homologies of the nucleotide sequence with dog, mink, human and rat were 85% to 91%,DRD2 gene of blue fox was successfully cloned in this study, indicating it was quite conservative among species.
