Efficacy of Ceftiofur Suspension Experimentally Induced with Streptococcus suis Serotype Ⅱ in Mice

Abstract: To evaluate the therapeutic effects of Ceftiofur suspension and build the model of mice artificially infected with Streptococcosis suis serotype Ⅱ.Mice were chosen to build the model of mice artificially infected with Streptococcosis suis serotype Ⅱ and process the cure test treating with Ceftiofur suspension. The results showed that the mice appeared typical clinical symptoms，pathologic changes and had good repeatability.And the cure rates of groups of 5 and 10 mg/kg were both 100%. The cure rate of 2 mg/kg group was 70%. Therefore, Ceftiofur Suspension as injection showed the best effect to treat the mice at dose 5 mg/kg.
