Abstract: Xinjiang bactrian camel lives in the edge of Junggar Basin and Tarim Basin, and the area of Tianshan desert grassland and desert steppe grassland areas.In the long-term evolutionary process, Xinjiang bactrian camel get a unique and good adaptation for desertification and ecological conditions, such as resistance to rough-feeding, thirsty, hunger, heat, cold, storm and long-distance running. In this paper, the species characteristics, production performance of Xinjiang bactrian were introduced and the prospect of cultivation was given.
