Abstract:

The training acceptance rate and reasons for rejection of 2284 puppies breeding between 2000 and 2007 in one police dog breeding center were analyzed. The results indicated: The qualification rate of 2monthold puppies is 99.12%; the training acceptance rate, rejection rate and mortality rate of 2~6 months old puppies are 87.40%, 9.16% and 3.44% respectively, and the main reasons for rejection are lacking retrieval drive and fearfulness, accounted for 60.11% and 16.85% respectively.
