Biological Characteristics Comparison of Eggs between Goose and Duck

Abstract: In order to discover the differences of eggs between goose ang duck, 56 eggs of Gushi White Goose and 64 eggs of Huainan Ma Duck were involved in this study. The results shown that, every outside and inside characteristics of goose eggs and duck eggs were: egg weight (159.1 g, 62.17g), egg specific density (1.119, 1.094), egg shell thickness ( 0.514 mm, 0.311 mm), Haugh unit (107.77, 86.14), proportion of yolk (38.12%, 30.28%), proportion of egg shell (12.32%, 11.19%), respectively. Egg yolk color of duck is deeper compare with goose, roche color were 11.30 and 4.52 respectively. The rate of blood and meatspot of duck eggs was 12.5%, compare with 3.57% of goose eggs.
