Abstract: In order to study the differences of expression of FSHβ and FSHR genes respond to goose treated by counter-season production. The FSH levels in serum were detected. The pituitary, hypothalamus and ovarian was harvested from geese of experimental group and control group. The differences of FSHβ and FSHR genes expression in hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis were detected by Real-time PCR.The results showed the FSH level of geese from experimental group was extremely significant higher than that from control group (P<0.01).FSHβ and FSHR genes were expressed in all the three tissues. The highest expression of FSHβ was in pituitary while the FSHR gene was in ovarian (P<0.01).In the different breeding cycle, the FSHβ mRNA expression in pituitary of experimental group was extremely significant higher than that in control group (P<0.01).The FSHR mRNA expression in ovarian was extremely significant higher than that in control group (P<0.01).Counter-season production treatment increased the expression of FSHβ gene in pituitary and FSHR gene in ovarian. The results indicated that FSH was highly associated with incubation maintenance.
