Abstract: This experiment was conducted to study the effects of replacing part of soybean meal with Black Soldier fly larvae meal (BSFLM) on laying performance, egg quality and blood physiological and biochemical parameters of hens during the late laying period. One thousand and eighty 60-week-old Hey-Line Brown hens with similar health and laying rates were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 45 laying hens in each replicate. On the basis of the basal diet (containing 24% soybean meal),experiment diets of equal nitrogen and equal fat was prepared by replacing 0 (control group),1% (experimental group Ⅰ),3% (experimental group Ⅱ) and 5% (experimental group Ⅲ) soybean meal with BSFLM,respectively. The preliminary experiment lasted for 7 d and the formal experiment lasted for 60 d.The results showed as follows:① Compared with control group, there were no significant change in broken and soft eggs ratio, average egg weight and average daily feed intake in experimental groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ (P>0.05).And the laying rate were significantly increased and the ratio of feed to egg were significantly decreased of hens during the late laying period in experimental groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ (P<0.05).② Compared with control group, there were no significant change in eggshell color, egg shape index, albumen height,Haugh unit, eggshell strength, eggshell thickness, relative weight of yolk, relative weight of eggshell and yolk cholesterol content of hens during the late laying period in experimental groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ (P>0.05).③ Compared with control group, the levels of serum TP and ALB in experimental group Ⅱ and Ⅲ were significantly increased (P<0.05),and there were no significant change in blood physiological parameters and other serum biochemical parameters of hens during the late laying period in experimental groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ (P>0.05).In conclusion, replacing 1%,3% and 5% soybean meal with BSFLM in basal diet of Hey-Line Brown hens aged 60 weeks would not have adverse effects on the performance, egg quality and blood physiological and biochemical parameters of hens during the late laying period. It suggested that BSFLM could be used as a feed protein source to partly replace soybean meal in the basal diet of laying hens.
