Abstract: Layer hens were immunized with cytopathic (CP) and noncytopathic (NCP) bovine viral diarrhea virus(BVDV), the egg yolk was successfully treated with modified PEG6000 method. The purity of IgY was detected with SDS-PAGE and the IgY titer was assayed by indirected ELISA after 7 days, and the neutralizing antibody titer to NCP BVDV with immunoperoxidase monolayer assay (IPMA). The results suggested that higher purity of lgY was observed with the use of modified PEG6000. We can detect anti-BVDV IgY in the first 14 days. After being immunized with 4 doses of the conjugate, the titer of IgY against CP BVDV was 1∶32000, against NCP BVDV was 1∶40000 and kept the conditions after 3 months. Neutralizing antibody titer to NCP BVDV was 1×10-3.
